Pippa Lugg created her first animation, "Guess who's coming for dinner?", at the
UNESCO Africa Animated 2.0 Workshop in 2005.
In 2007, Pippa formed Pluggin Animation with Rachel Main after they collaborated
on an animation, "The Heart that sees", along with a team of artists.
Rachel studied Art at the Port Elizabeth Technikon and secured a job at Triggerfish
Animation after winning a Vuka Award.
Pluggin Animation received their first commission from IBIS Engineering cc to create
a thirty second animation as a marketing tool for the company.
Pluggin Animation specializes in 2D Animation.
They have a strong character design team and use the traditional method of
hand drawn animation which is then scanned into the computer for colouring and editing.
It is a time consuming process but results in an aesthetically pleasing 'Fine Art'
style as opposed to the refinement of computer animation. The company contracts
in fellow professionals based on the individual requirements of each job.
